God's Ways

What Would a World that Followed God Look Like?

I think the God who created us knows the best way for us to live. What would happen if the world was following God? When Jesus was asked what the most important commandment was, He said to love God. Next after that, He said to love one another. All of God's commandments can be boiled down to those. (Note: the following isn't an exhaustive list of God's instructions to us, but I tried to pick the major ones. I'm sure I missed a lot of good stuff.)

Relationships

Between Men (Love one another)

Being thankful for one another: 1 Thessalonians 5:18 "Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." Our interactions with one another are much more smooth if we're looking for ways to be thankful instead of looking for fault. Our joy is thus increased and our discontent put away.

Resolving disputes daily: Ephesians 4:26 "Be angry, and yet do not sin; do not let the sun go down on your anger, 27 and do not give the devil an opportunity. " We are instructed to not let the sun go down on our anger. Allowing bitterness and anger to grow over time makes for a strife-filled world. It gives Satan permission to come in and mess with you.

Forgiving: same as above. If you want others to forgive you when they've done wrong, you need to forgive them. If you want God to forgive you when you've done wrong, you need to also forgive others. Anger and bitterness, when left to themselves, grow into hate and violence.

No sex outside of marriage: I see so many people beaten up over this one. People fool around, and then the other person takes off to do something else. There's so much heartbreak over this. So many people have given up on relationships altogether because they've been so hurt. God made us so that sex would bond us together for life. When someone breaks up with you, it feels like you've had part of you ripped out, and it hurts so badly. Or else people become so hardened that they just breeze through relationships like they were nothing, leaving a trail of tears in their wake. I used to be like that. Living the way God intended is so much better!

Be fruitful: God told us to be fruitful and multiply. Children are such a joy! Young people who refuse to marry and raise children are really missing out. A whole world who refused to marry and multiply would see the death of the human race.

Loving one's enemies: if you love even your enemies, how can there be war or murder?

Drunkenness missing: People do a lot of bad things when they are drunk. They lose self-control. All this would be missing in a world that obeyed God's command to not be drunk.

Men love their wives/Women respect their husbands/Children raised in love, no abuse: how much grief there is in the world from not following this one: spouses beating each other up, parents beating up children.

Respect father and mother: parents have a great responsibility for caring for and raising their children. They deserve thankfulness and respect for bringing the child into the world and caring for him. When children obey and respect their parents they gain in wisdom and understanding. When children rule the house, selfishness is the order of the day.

Men humble: pride gets in the way of living how God intended us to. It prevents us from admitting when we've done wrong. It keeps us from being thankful.

When we're loving one another, there's just a whole list of things we shouldn't do, if for no other reason than we don't want them done to us: No war, No murder, No lying, No rape, No stealing, No harm without restitution.

Between God and Men (Love God)

Being thankful for what we are given: Life is amazing, and the sustenance provided by God in the form of this world is something to be thankful for. Coveting what you don't have leads to discontent and makes the one who gave all unappreciated.

No idols: like a person cheating on a spouse, it isn't loving to God to give your praise and worship to a false god, who didn't create you and provide you with all you need.

No blasphemy: It isn't loving to go around bad-talking the one who's done so much for you.

Repenting when we do wrong: just like in a relationship with your spouse, you would say you're sorry and stop doing whatever it was that was hurting him

Men can be blessed by God when they remain in right relationship with Him. It can be like the garden of Eden where men walked and talked with God, and had his Spirit in them.

When we are in right relationship with God, there is no need for his corrections: no banishment from your land, no having to wipe out whole groups of people. Those things happened (and will happen again) when men refused to repent of their evil deeds. God is patient with us, but eventually, His justice and goodness require that wickedness be punished/ended.

Blood required to pay for sin: God's so nice, He even provided the blood payment.

Between Men and the earth

There's a little bit of instruction on caring for the earth

Be a caretaker: God's instructions to Adam and Eve were: Genesis 1:26 "Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; and let them rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” If your focus is for caring for the world, you won’t be destroying it.

Don't mess with genes: In Leviticus 19, God said "Do not mate two different kinds of animals. Do not plant your field with two different kinds of seed. " This is not even possible except through genetic manipulation -- like how could you mate a horse to a pig otherwise. So since God was telling them not to do, you have to assume that was happening. This GMO stuff today is killing us. Cancer rates are through the roof.

Let the land rest: The Israelites were instructed to let the land rest every 7 years. If you keep planting the land year after year with no rest, the soil gets depleted of nutrients. It needs rest and renewal just like we do.

Overall the focus is putting God and others before one’s self. This leads to a world where people help each other and care for one another.

As is stands now, we are not able to live as God directed without His help. We need His sanctification to enable us to love Him and love one another as we should. Right now we live under constant temptation to do wrong. We need His instruction to remind us of what we should be doing if we want to live right.

But people think, well, I want to do such and such, and I don't want a god telling me what to do. But when we refuse the God who created us, we wind up following the directives of the ruler of this world, Lucifer. When people think "I'll be my own person. I'll do things my way. I'll get what I want." they wind up falling prey to Lucifer's manipulation. Those are the choices...be ruled by God or by Satan.

What if the whole world followed Lucifer?

(It'd look a lot like the current world.)

“Do what you will will be the whole of the law.” is what the Satanic bible says. Everything would be the opposite of God's instructions.

Those who sell themselves to Lucifer for fame/money/power: Hollywood, sports and music stars, world leaders, they exemplify what living under Lucifer's rule requires. People sink ever and ever deeper into debauchery, selfishness, greed. Elijah Woods tells us Hollywood is full of pedophile rings. Pizzagate shows the wicked debauchery of those in DC, yet no one blinks an eye over it.

These types of things are commonplace under Satan's rule:
Child sacrifice/child rape/child torture
War, murder, rape
Lying, cheating
Pride
Bitterness

All of this leads to:
Separation from God
Mankind under God's wrath

Overall the focus is on self: get what you want, no matter the cost.
